The Glasgow-based firm complete pre-tax earnings of £5.7m in the year to 31 March, compared with £2.8m the year before.

In excess of the phase the group made three acquisitions and said the original parts were at the present fully included.

Iomart said the next buzz word was ‘Big Data’ – the size of information transmitted in the region of the web.

The company’s chief executive, Angus MacSween, said: “This dramatic growth in data means that vendors in this market will need to have the infrastructure in both storage and connectivity to cope with these ever-increasing demands.

“Iomart is investing in both storage infrastructure and in significantly improving its network capacity to maintain a leading position that will lead to further premium levels of service for our customers and prospects.”

How to transition your website away from MobileMe and iWeb

May 1st, 2012 | Posted by admin in browsers - (Comments Off)

It’s sad. But it’s a fact. With the demise of Apple’s MobileMe online service, it’s time to think not only of moving to a different Web host, but eventually of replacing Apple’s iWeb website builder. All indications point to iWeb’s future demise as the Mac OS advances and iWeb is neither supported or upgraded.

The tool you pick will answer the question of whether you’re in love with and married to your current site design…or whether you’re willing to shake things up a bit. We suggest shaking things up because Websites should not, by their nature, be stagnant. Just like all good publications, websites should be redesigned every so often to leverage new technologies and to enhance visual and contextual interest.

Here are some steps you can take to get started with this tasks.

However, even if you host your site without MobileMe, someday you’ll have to leave iWeb behind. Now is the time—if you have not already done so—to check out other options. There are many Mac website building tools for you to choose from, both as Mac software and as online services. Eventually, you will have to choose one.

Which web browser is best?

Among the PC browser contenders, Google’s Chrome version 17 narrowly captured the crown as the top performer overall in our tests, thanks to speedy JavaScript rendering and page loading times, excellent security tools, and a respectable array of add-ons and features. Mozilla’s Firefox 10 finished a close second, processing HTML 5 graphics faster than any other browser and sporting a huge library of add-ons to make browsing easier and more fun.

Opera 11.61 distinguished itself from its rivals with blazing page-load speeds and a great mobile browser, but it came up short in HTML 5 processing. Safari 5.1.2 didn’t perform especially well on any of our benchmarks; its only noteworthy redeeming quality, particularly for Windows users, is the solid security it provides.

from what i have used and tested out i have to say that google chrome is the best its simple and very fast to upload then Firefox, i found it easier to download video from chrome and one feature that i really liked is if a download stop you dont need to go back to the website that you got the download from just go into downloads and click on the link which should automatically stat the new download. saving you a lot of time

One thing like about Firefox is the amount of plugin is offers to the user for a SEO that is  really good.

Chrome is also one of the most secure browsers on this list, because it is sandboxed: The plug-ins that Chrome uses access information only within the browser itself and can’t read information from other areas on your computer.

Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 9 earned a rather low score for its features: it doesn’t offer themes for your browser and you can’t synch favourites unless you use Windows Live Mesh. Nevertheless, it offers more security options than most competing browsers, and it processed HTML 5 code quickly.
